Brion Jeannette Architecture was commissioned by the Orange County Public Library system, not only for design excellence but because of his highly regarded expertise in energy efficient design. The completed library (1998) received several awards including being designated Orange County’s most energy efficient library for 10 years running. Brion Jeannette brought to the design program many firsts for the County: electricity generating chillers, energy saving lighting and environment-friendly air conditioning, motion detectors and low voltage lighting. Unusual user comforts never before enjoyed: a coffee house, book store and interior lounge with fireplace. The firm’s construction oversight secured the integrity of the cutting edge design goals.
